Have your checkup in Henan, and see the province while you are here

Henan is where Chinese civilisation begins to have a continuous written record: the oracle bones of Yin Xu, the cave temples of Longmen, the monastery where Chan Buddhism started. We pair a half-day to one-day checkup with routes that justify the journey on their own.

Half-day baseline screening

Physician consultation and medical history review

Full-day in-depth screening

Age- and sex-appropriate cancer screening according to local guidelines

Rehabilitation assessment

Every rehabilitation placement starts with an assessment by the treating therapist. Without it, no honest programme length or price can be quoted — be wary of anyone who quotes one anyway.

Zhengzhou hospitals under discussion

郑州大学第一附属医院

郑州 · China

Founded in September 1928, formerly the First Affiliated Hospital of Henan Medical University, this is a Grade-A tertiary general hospital now operating across the Heyi and Zhengdong campuses plus the Nanyuan campus, and managing the Henan Hospital of Beijing Tiantan Hospital. It runs an International Medical Department for overseas patients. Organ transplantation, cardiology, oncology, neurology and critical care are the areas its own published material highlights.

Figures not first-hand

Bed counts and national rankings widely quoted in media are not listed here: no first-hand figure from the hospital was obtained. The International Medical Department is taken from the hospital's own website.

1,700 Beds

Founded in 1915 as the Zhengzhou Railway Bureau Central Hospital, this is one of Henan's first Grade-A tertiary hospitals (1993) and has been part of Zhengzhou University since September 2005. Rehabilitation medicine and gastroenterology are its two national key clinical specialty programmes. It is the home of Zhengzhou University's Fifth Clinical Medical College (Rehabilitation Medical College), and since November 2024 has been designated a Zhengzhou partner hospital of Huashan Hospital, Fudan University.

Sourced

Bed count is a conservative rounding of the hospital's own wording, "more than 1,700 beds in actual use" (checked 2026-09-27). Licensed and actual-open bed counts usually differ; confirm the exact figure with the hospital.

Checkup plus itinerary

A checkup is half a day. The rest of the trip is yours. Each programme states exactly which clinical work is included and what the hospital bills separately.
